Short name: KvR

Aiming to strengthen the Dutch knowledge infrastructure, a group of leading Dutch institutions (including The Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Wageningen University and Research Centres, RIVM, KNMI and ECN) developed the programme. The foundation Climate Changes Spatial Planning (Klimaat voor Ruimte) is responsible for the implementation of the programme and receives subsidy from the Ministry of VROM to the amount of 40 million Euro. The participating consortia have to provide 40 million co-funding leading to a total programme budget of 80 million Euros for a period of 7 years (2004-2011). The project plan was created in close collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders, including the Ministries of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment (VROM), Agriculture, Nature Management and Fisheries (LNV), Transport, Public Works and Water Management (V&W), Education, Culture and Science (Oc&W) and Economic Affairs (EZ), regional and local governmental agencies, the private sector and NGOs. Consortium partners include over 70 research organisations, knowledge centres, and public and private oprganisations in the Netherlands and several research and public organisations outside the Netherlands.
