Role in the project: Observer

The Department of Physics within the University of Malta and the Malta Environment and Planning Authority (MEPA) will be embarking on two separate projects dealing with climate change impact and vulnerability assessments:

  • The Department of Physics will focus on climate modelling and the generation of climate scenarios, thus establishing a solid framework for a more thorough analysis of adaptation measures;
  • MEPA should be assessing Malta’s exposure and sensitivity to climate change and its current adaptive capacity. Alternative response scenarios will be developed and a National Adaptation Strategy formulated.
