Geographical Groups
CIRCLE’s consortium has set up area related groups related to geo-climatic areas and/or to socio-economic circumstances common to certain areas.
These groups consist of several national programmes which jointly address issues that are of common interest for a group of countries but do not have an all-European dimension. Such groups (sub-networks) may also likely be the origin of future transnational programmes that are strongly complementary to both the European Commissions Framework Programme (which has a European dimension) and to national programmes (which have a one-country dimension) and should fulfil an intermediate role.
The whole consortium will jointly address issues of common interest such as modes of collaboration, evaluation procedures, modes for mutual opening of infrastructure and the like, and, at the same time, the area-related groups will take up this work and adapt it to their specific geo-climate or socio-economic related needs.
